After two weeks of community testing, The Fun Pimps have officially released the stable version of 7 Days to Die V3.0 "Dead Hot Summer" for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The update introduces one of the largest gameplay overhauls in the game's history, bringing an extensive sandbox customization system, new progression mechanics, world improvements, and dozens of new locations.
150+ Sandbox Options Redefine Survival
The headline feature of V3.0 is the completely redesigned Sandbox System. Players now have access to more than 150 gameplay customization options, allowing nearly every aspect of survival to be adjusted. Zombie behavior, player damage, loot progression, crafting rules, trader settings, Blood Moon difficulty, resource gathering, and much more can now be customized to create unique survival experiences.
To help players get started, The Fun Pimps have included 11 official gameplay presets, ranging from the hardcore permadeath mode Bite Club to the classic-inspired Legacy Survival, the action-focused 7 Days Later, and several other unique scenarios. Players can also create and share their own custom SandboxCodes with friends or dedicated servers.
Item Magnitude and Combine Station
Loot progression has been significantly expanded with the new Item Magnitude system. Weapons, tools, armor, workstation mods, and vehicle mods can now roll powerful bonus attributes, creating far more meaningful loot than in previous versions.
Complementing this system is the new Combine Station, where players can merge similar equipment to improve item quality and inherit stronger attributes. Together, these systems provide much greater long-term progression and equipment customization.
Expanded World and Visual Improvements
Version 3.0 also greatly expands exploration by adding more than 60 new Points of Interest (POIs). Industrial facilities, military compounds, commercial buildings, and unique landmarks further increase world variety.
The new Sign-Tech system completely overhauls environmental signage throughout towns and cities, adding hundreds of new signs and visual details that improve navigation while making the world feel more immersive.
